GDC Portfolio Reviews

Went to GDC this week and had my portfolio looked at by  bunch of companies: Crystal Dynamics, Valve, Ubisoft, Insomniac, Irrational and WMS (They make slot machines). Feedback was mostly positive with some good crit about what to add and take away from my portfolio.

Additionally the application process for Riot Games involved punching this thing as hard as you could:

Animation

The assignment was to make a 6 second looping animation for a Baker. This ended up being about 20 seconds because just him rolling out dough seemed boring.

The model is Norman and I made him a chef hat and some props.

Z-Brush Treant

First time mucking about in Z-Brush. I found this neat picture of a Treant on the Interwebs (Apparently he's concept art for the game Rift), and tried to make an armature for him out of Z-Spheres.

Lab Textures

Textured the lower walls and pipes for the lab along with the upper floor pieces since you can see the underside of them when you're below. I didn't model the floor pieces.

Dreamcast Controller take 23 billion

Restarted this at least 4 times since last week, but finally done. I'm happy with how it looks smoothed, but the mesh is still a bit wonky. 9819 Tris.
